Book Excerpt: Mountain Support in Feng Shui
“Where the mountains are located in relation to your property provides more vital information for evaluating the Qi quality of the environment. Generally speaking, you want to see healthy mountain ranges situated behind a property. Because mountains are considered Yin (stable and immobile), having mountains behind a home is seen as a good thing, providing a sense of security and support for it and promoting positive relationships and good health to those who occupy the space.
Mountains also act as shelter against strong and violent winds. Ranges formed around a property in an ‘embrace’ are regarded as more advantageous, because this type of formation provides protection and a curvature to catch or stop the wind (or Qi) from escaping. In Forms Feng Shui, where the wind stops, the energy stays put. Therefore, the places where energy is concentrated will be considered most auspicious.”
